Back to Conference Network Written on 19-Nov-2009 by zmwangLast week, I chaired the 2009 Collaborative Conference on Interacting Nanostructures. A small conference, only 27 presentations. The conference photos are available to view at http://www.oanano.org/photos. The unique thing is the conference taking place on a cruise ship:

Ha, so it is fun! Agree?
The cruise takes care of all the needs, foods, lodging, entertainments, and tours. However, the participants do get isolated by the cruise and the ocean, no Internet no phone, or very expensive. What the choices do they have? Stay with the conference and discuss science. Most of the scientific sessions have an attendance rate close to 100% :).
This could be the first Nano conference of this kind. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I'm proud to share some of the comments I just received from the conference attendees:
"thanks again for the invitation to this very interesting conference at this exceptional place. I very much enjoyed the conference and the cruise."
"It was nice meeting you las week at the conference. I had a great time not only at the conference but also at the sea. Thank you very much for organizing such an unconventional conference."

company."
